UHI as you know it today, started as a simple cardiac clinic at Mulago Hospital in 1958. This journey began when we transitioned from a clinic to a fully-fledged facility i.e Uganda Heart Institute (UHI).
Our In-patient services run for 24 hours. These include Children and Adults’ admissions for both medical and surgical conditions. The average length of stay on the ward is 5 days.
We offer services in medical procedures/tests done in a professional and standard manner hence eliminating the patients need for overnight stay. This includes Rheumatic Heart Disease, Paediatric, Heart failure, Arrhythmia and Pacing, Hypertension/Ischemia, Cardiomyopathies, Surgery (Adult and Paediatric)

Medical transport to patients with Cardiac illnesses which prevent the patient from transporting themselves.
Out-of-hospital acute cardiac care which includes:
• Offering an Advanced Cardiac Life Support
• Supporting breathing and heart functions/activities by use of medical drugs, gases and devices
• Skilled medical treatment during transport to the level of critical/intensive care
